Pricing & Cost
How much does a shed cost?
Sheds start at approximately $2,500 for an 8x10 wood shed and go up to $9,200+ for a 12x24 vinyl shed. Price depends on size, material (wood vs. vinyl), style (A-frame, barn, workshop), and custom options like extra windows, lofts, ramps, and electrical prep. See our full pricing page for details, or contact us for an exact quote.
How much does a playset cost?
Vinyl playsets range from $1,500 for an entry-level swing set to $15,000+ for a premium multi-tower playground. Our most popular family playsets fall in the $3,000-$7,000 range and include swings, slides, a fort, and climbing features. All prices include delivery and professional installation.
Is delivery and installation included in the price?
Yes. Free delivery and professional installation are included in the price for customers within our Ocean County service area, including Lakewood, Toms River, Jackson, Brick, Howell, and surrounding towns. Delivery outside our standard area may have an additional fee — just ask.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, and rent-to-own financing. Rent-to-own requires no credit check — just the first month's payment and a small security deposit. Cash purchases often qualify for a discount.
Material & Style
Should I get a vinyl or wood shed?
Vinyl sheds require zero maintenance — no painting, staining, or sealing ever. They resist rot, insects, and fading. They cost about 15-20% more upfront.
Wood sheds cost less upfront and offer a traditional look, but need periodic staining or painting (every 3-5 years). Both use the same sturdy Amish construction underneath. Most of our Lakewood customers choose vinyl for the long-term savings and convenience.
What size shed do I need?
- 8x10 (80 sq ft) — Garden tools, a push mower, bikes
- 8x12 to 10x12 (96-120 sq ft) — General storage, seasonal items, riding mower
- 10x16 to 12x16 (160-192 sq ft) — Workshop, large family storage, hobby space
- 12x20 to 12x24 (240-288 sq ft) — Full workshop, home office, she-shed
A good rule of thumb: get one size bigger than you think you need. You'll fill it up faster than you expect. Call us and we'll help you figure out the right size.
Can I customize the colors?
Absolutely. Both vinyl and wood sheds come in a wide range of color options. You can choose your siding color, trim color, shingle color, and door color to match your home or create a custom look. We'll show you all available options when you get your quote.
What's the warranty?
Our sheds and playsets come with manufacturer warranties covering materials and craftsmanship. Warranty terms vary by product, but typically range from 5-15 years depending on the manufacturer and material. We'll provide full warranty details with your purchase.
Permits & Regulations
Do I need a permit for a shed in Lakewood NJ?
Yes. Lakewood Township requires a zoning permit for any shed. Key rules:
- Maximum shed size: 200 square feet
- Maximum height: 12 feet
- Minimum setback from property lines: 5 feet on all sides
Contact the Lakewood Department of Code Enforcement at 212 Fourth Street, Lakewood NJ for permit applications. We can help guide you through the process.
Do I need a permit for a playset?
In most Ocean County towns, residential playsets do not require a building permit. However, there may be setback requirements from property lines. Check with your local code enforcement office to be sure. We can help you navigate this.
Rent-to-Own
How does rent-to-own work?
Rent-to-own lets you get your shed or playset installed now and pay over time:
- No credit check — no banks, no credit applications
- Pay the first month + a security deposit to get started
- Your structure is delivered and installed
- Make 36 monthly payments and it's yours
- You can pay it off early with no penalty
- You can cancel anytime and return the structure
Is rent-to-own more expensive than buying outright?
Yes, the total cost over 36 months is higher than the cash price — similar to any financing arrangement. However, many customers prefer the convenience of low monthly payments with no credit check. You can also pay it off early at any time to reduce the total cost. Ask us about cash discounts if you're paying upfront.
Delivery & Installation
How long does delivery take?
Standard lead time is 4-8 weeks from order. During peak season (spring and summer), it can be 8-12 weeks. We'll give you an estimated delivery date when you place your order and keep you updated throughout the build process.
Do I need to prepare my yard before delivery?
The delivery area should be relatively level and clear of debris. For sheds, we recommend a gravel pad or concrete blocks as a foundation — we'll advise on the best option for your specific yard and shed size. For playsets, the ground should be level. We recommend wood chips or rubber mulch under and around the playset for safety.
Can I move my shed later?
Yes. Because our sheds are built as a single unit (not stick-built on site), they can be relocated. Moving a shed typically requires a special trailer and professional movers. Contact us if you need to move a shed — we may be able to help or recommend someone.
Do you serve areas outside Lakewood?
Yes. We deliver and install throughout Ocean County and surrounding areas, including Toms River, Jackson, Brick, Howell, Manchester, Berkeley, and Point Pleasant. Contact us to confirm delivery to your specific location.
Playsets & Safety
Are vinyl swing sets safe?
Yes. Vinyl playsets are considered the safest option for kids. The smooth vinyl surface eliminates splinters entirely. All hardware is recessed or covered with safety caps. Our playsets meet ASTM F1148 residential safety standards for spacing, height, and structural integrity. Vinyl also stays cooler than metal in the summer sun.
What age is a playset for?
It depends on the tier:
- Starter playsets — Great for ages 2-8
- Family playsets — Ideal for ages 3-12
- Premium playsets with rock walls and monkey bars — Suitable for ages 2-14
We'll help you pick the right configuration based on your children's ages and abilities.
How much space do I need for a playset?
You need the footprint of the playset plus a 6-foot safety zone on all sides. Rough estimates:
- Starter (12x10 ft playset) — needs about 24x22 ft of yard space
- Family (16x18 ft playset) — needs about 28x30 ft of yard space
- Premium (20x24 ft playset) — needs about 32x36 ft of yard space
